Tender Function - User-Defined Options for Surcharges

The following are a list of User-Defined Options that can be used to change the behaviour of the Surcharge of Tenders.

User-Defined Option - Skip Tender Surcharges via a User-Defined Option per-POS Terminal

It is possible to Skip Tender Surcharges via a User-Defined Option per-POS Terminal.

When this option is enabled, the Surcharge that is entered in the Surcharge field will be ignored and no surcharge will be applied when tendering a sale on the POS Screen.

This will prevent Surcharges from being applied to ALL TENDERS!.

To configure this option, go to: Back Office > Setup > POS Terminals > Select a POS Terminal > Modify > POS Settings.

On the bottom-left corner of the window, create the following User Defined Option:

Description: SKIPTENDERSURCHARGE

Setting: 1

User-Defined Option - Override Tender Surcharge Amounts by POS

It is possible to override the Tender Surcharge Amounts by POS via a User-Defined Option.

This enables specific POS Terminals to be overridden with a different Surcharge Amount using this option.

It is also possible to override a Surcharge Amount with a 0 value, effectively disabling the Tender Surcharge for the configured Tender.

To configure this option, go to: Back Office > Setup > POS Terminals > Select a POS Terminal that will have the overridden Surcharge Amount > Modify > POS Settings.

On the bottom-left corner of the window, create the following User-Defined Option:

In the Description above, replace xx with the Tender that is being overridden.

If overriding Tender 2 with a new Tender Surcharge of 5, then create the option as follows:

Points to Note:

The Override Tender Surcharge User-Defined Option will use whichever Surcharge Type is currently configured for the Tender that is being overridden.

E.g. If Tender 2 is configured with a "%" Type Surcharge (in Back Office > Setup > Function Descriptors > Tender 2), then this User-Defined Option will also use a "%" Type Surcharge with the overridden amount entered in the User-Defined Option.

The below screenshot shows the Surcharge Type (% or $) that will be inherited by the User-Defined Option.

It is possible to create as many User-Defined Options as required (e.g. to override the Tender Surcharge for multiple Tenders).

If required, it is possible to override the Tender Surcharge amount with a 0 value using this User-Defined Option which will effectively disable the Surcharge for the Tender.
